Now that the drought is over, Cubs fans of all ages, especially older ones, are rejoicing. It is true that no living fan remembers their 2nd championship, but Mabel Ball was alive for it. She was overjoyed when the Cubs beat the Indians, but she passed away a few days later. Here is her incredible story. http://m.mlb.com/cutfour/2016/11/12/208715402/108-year-old-cubs-fan-passes-away-after-chicago-wins-world-series

This is another interesting Cubs fan story. In 1993, Michael Lee wrote “Chicago Cubs. 2016 World Champions. You heard it here first.” According to the Huffington Post, he first thought of it in a dream he had in 1983. “I saw the words, ‘Cubs World Champions 2016’ on the Wrigley Field sign and I heard Harry Caray calling home runs.”

This last one is very different. During the 1984 Division Championship season, a Cubs fan decided that he would save a beer for when the Cubs won it all. 32 years later, the time came. Here’s what happened  http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/cubs-fan-celebrates-world-series-win-by-opening-32-year-old-beer-110316

One more thing for today. Yoenis Cespedes signed a four-year contract with the Mets. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/209856980/yoenis-cespedes-agrees-to-deal-with-mets/
Above is MLB.com’s view on the deal. Hopefully, with the help of this deal, it will be Mets fans celebrating next year.
